Michael Still

Michael Still MBA (Chair)

Michael Still has enjoyed a 30 year career in corporate leadership, investment banking, equity and debt markets and infrastructure within Australia and globally.

Michael has engaged broadly in banking and business roles including financing, strategy, M&A, private and sovereign capital management and corporate and institutional advisory. Sectors include financial services, health and international partnerships.

He has also led organizations engaged in advisory and reconstruction, infrastructure financing and delivery including Public Private Partnerships and social infrastructures, particularly in health and education.

Over a long period Michael has advised governments, corporates and investors on strategic positioning and change and its management as well as ownership and financing issues across many industries and asset types. He brings to bear significant experience in dealing with equity investors and debt financiers globally.

Michael is Chairman of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, a past board member of the Northern Sydney Local Health District, board member of the New South Wales Cancer Institute and is a Committee Member of the Medical Devices Fund Expert Panel (NSW Govt). He is also a director of the Silverchain Group and the Silverchain Foundation. He holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management.

 
Robert Farnsworth

Associate Professor Robert Farnsworth OAM, MB, BS FRCS Ed,  FRACS (Urol) FACRM, FRACP,AFRM

Associate Professor Robert (Bob) Farnsworth is the Director of Surgery at Prince of Wales Hospital, and is a Visiting Medical Officer at Sydney Children’s Hospital in paediatric urology.

Bob is a Conjoint Associate Professor at the University of New South Wales, and the former Chair of the SESIH ACAC.

 

Peter Gonski

Associate Professor Peter Gonski  MB, BS, BMed Sci, FRACP

Associate Professor Peter Gonski is the Director of Southcare Aged and Extended Care at Sutherland Hospital and Community Services, and is the Stream Director for Aged Care and Rehabilitation in SESLHD. Peter is a Conjoint Associate Professor at the University of New South Wales.

Peter is the Head of the Clinical School at Sutherland Hospital, a member of the SESLHD Clinical Council and a Board member for the St George and Sutherland Medical Research Foundation.

 

Gorur Krishna

Dr Gorur Krishna Harinath OAM MBBS, DTM&H (Syd) 

Dr Gorur Krishna Harinath is a general practitioner in a private practice in East Gardens since 2000. Dr Harinath is an honorary appointment Chairman of Board of Directors Cricket NSW and a Board Director of Cricket Australia.

 

Janet McDonald

Mrs Janet McDonald AO

Janet McDonald is a Trustee and Life Fellow of the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences, and a former company director.

Janet became an Officer of the Order of Australia in 1997.

 

Patricia Azarias

Patricia Azarias

Patricia Azarias is a former Director, United Nations Internal Audit, a former Director, NSW Ministry of Urban Infrastructure and a former Director, NSW Parliament Public Accounts Committee.

Dr Debra Graves MBBS MHA FRACMA

Dr Debra Graves is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia.

Debra’s former appointments include Medical Director MBF Private Hospitals Division, CEO and Medical Director at Western Hospital Melbourne, Former Quality Manager at Greenslopes Repatriation Hospital Brisbane and Deputy Chairman for Pathology Awareness Australia Pty Ltd

Mr Jonathan Doy BEC, FCPA, GAIDC

Mr Jonathan Doy is a Senior Partner, specialising in Indirect at Crowe Horwath.

Jonathan’s former roles include Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Tax Services Line leader for the Public Sector and Lead Tax Advisor to NSW Ministry of Health. Jonathan is a Fellow with CPA Australia, a Registered Tax Agent and a former Board Member of the ACT chapter of Tourism Council of Australia.

Neville Mitchell BComm, CA (SA), CA

Mr Mitchell is a Chartered Accountant with 25 years of experience as a Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary at Cochlear Limited. A role which requires a solid working knowledge of health systems, including payment systems around the world.

 
 

Helene Orr

Ms Helene Orr has been Managing Director, Insight Governance since 2015. She is a former Executive Director, Governance & Assurance with NSW Family and Community Services and prior to that Executive Director with NSW Ageing, Disability & HomeCare and is a Board Director of Seton Villa (NSW). Ms Orr holds a Bachelor of Applied Science, is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is currently completing a Master of Arts (Health & Social Wellbeing).

Professor Allan Spigelman MBBS, FRACS, FRCS

Professor Allan Spigelman received his surgical training in SESLHD, prior to his move to the UK for sub-speciality training and research into hereditary cancer. He is Professor of Surgery at UNSW St Vincent's Hospital Clinical School, where he was head of the Clinical School for 9 years. He was the first Director of Clinical Governance appointed in Australia, is Regional editor of International Journal of Health Governance, was a member of the Area Executive Team and Director of Cancer Services, Hunter New England and then at St Vincent's & Mater Health Sydney and Director of the Kinghorn Cancer Centre and is a member of the NSW Medical Board.  He was the heavily involved in the development of the Kinghorn Cancer Centre, including philanthropic fund raising. Prior to his return to Australia in 1997, he was Director of the Breast Unit at St Mary’s Hospital, London, where he received the Hewlett Packard prize for innovation for establishing a one-stop breast service and was Director of the St Mary’s Hospital Day Surgery Unit, where he introduced a “See and Treat” one stop service. His clinical interests include cancer genetics, being Founder Director of the Hunter  New England Family Cancer Service. He conducts cancer genetics clinics at St Vincent’s Hospital and in rural and regional NSW. He is a former Chair and long standing member of Council of the International Society for Gastrointestinal Hereditary Tumours (InSiGHT) based in London and is only the second person since 1924 to hold the position of Honorary Senior Research Fellow in the St Mark’s Polyposis Registry, London.

 

Liam Harte

Mr Harte is the Chief Executive Officer of Integrity Health & Safety. He is also an Intensive Care Paramedic with the NSW Ambulance Service, as well as holding a number of non-clinical roles. Liam’s qualifications include Advanced Diploma Intensive Care Paramedic, Graduate of the NSW Public Sectors Indigenous leadership program, Australian Graduate School of Management.

 
     

 

The Board and Chief Executive are responsible for:

  • Improving local patient outcomes and responding to issues that arise throughout our Local Health District.
  • Monitoring the performance of our Local Health District against performance measures in the LHD Service Agreement.
  • Delivering services and performance standards within an agreed budget, based on annual strategic and operating plans. This forms the basis of our Local Health District Service Agreement.
  • Ensuring services are provided efficiently and accountably. Production of Annual Reports that are subject to State financial accountability and audit frameworks.
  • Maintaining effective communication with local and State public health stakeholders.
