SESLHD Health Management Graduate Program

About the SESLHD Health Management Graduate Program

The SESLHD Health Management Graduate Program is designed to develop skilled and capable health leaders and managers for the future. Participants in the program are known as Management Trainees.

The SESLHD Health Management Graduate Program is a broad and comprehensive two-year program with two main components:
  1. Workplace Component
    Participants in the SESLHD Health Management Graduate Program work full-time for SESLHD, undertaking placements of 3-6 months duration through such areas as Hospital Management, Human Resources, Finance and the Executive Unit.

    Throughout the program, SESLHD provides participants with a range of professional development opportunities, including training courses, attendance at conferences and events, and mentoring, designed to support and develop participants and prepare them for the next steps in your career.
  2.  Academic Component
    To complement the workplace learning and accelerate their knowledge, Management Trainees undertake a funded Master’s degree in health management on a part-time basis and in online mode.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for the program you must:
  • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Have completed an undergraduate degree in a relevant field from a recognised university provider, or be in the final year of such a degree at the time of application and be expected to eligible for graduation by the time the program commences in January 2019.

Your degree not does have to be health-specific. A broad range of fields may be suitable, such as business, law, economics, science, policy or sociology, for example.

Application Process

The application process for the program has three stages:
  • Application submitted online by 11.59pm on Sunday 8 July 2018
  • Group interview and skills assessment centre
  • Individual interviews

All interviews will be held at Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital on Macquarie Street in the Sydney CBD.
