How do I apply?

Step 1.

 Complete an application form form and submit via email to iiHub by midnight Friday 24 March 2017

Step 2.

 If successful in stage one, applicants will be required to pitch their idea to an executive panel (within 5 minutes) in April 2017.


Applicants* can submit an application for funding under one of the following four categories:

From little things, big things grow

To support testing of new ideas through the allocation of seed funding. This category recognises that one idea has the potential to make a big difference to patients, staff and the community.

12 months


To support the systematic and rapid adoption, spread and scale of successful, mature projects across SESLHD.
Projects selected in this category will be mature innovations that deliver significantly increased quality and improved efficiency with a validated evidence base and can clearly demonstrate their sustainability. Innovations can be sourced locally from within SESLHD, or state-wide, Australia-wide or internationally.

Cultivating joy at work

To support innovations that make SESLHD a great place to work for our people.
This category is about improving quality of care, effective care, and patient safety through supporting our people - the people drawn to health out of a desire to help others and a passion for caring. The aim of cultivating joy at work is to enable our people to truly thrive, not just persevere.
Projects selected in this category could be at the team, department, facility or district level.

The 200K challenge

The 200K Challenge asks what change could you achieve with $200,000?
This category is aimed at supporting innovations that are wide reaching and that have the potential to affect system-wide change. Projects selected in this category will involve creating partnerships with patients, patient/consumer led initiatives, improving the patient experience, and new, improved or “flipped” healthcare models.
