Short Street Centre and SouthZone

Specialised Sexual Health Services at St George and Sutherland Hospital

The Short Street Centre and SouthZone are part of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District and offer specialist STI/HIV testing and management services. The Short Street Centre is based on the St George Hospital campus while Southzone is a part time outreach clinic based in the Community Health Centre at Sutherland Hospital. 

Both are affiliated with the University of NSW Faculty of Medicine and St George Clinical School. 

These publicly funded clinics offer free, expert and confidential services from a multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses and counsellors. 

When visiting either centre:

  • Medicare cards are not essential
  • no referral is required.

Appointments for all clinics can be made by phoning on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 9am and 5pm, and Tuesdays between 12pm- 8pm.
