SESLHD Non-Government Organisation (NGO) Program
The SESLHD Non-Government Organisation (NGO) Program is a service of the Corporate and Legal Services Directorate.
The program administers 35 grants to NGOs within the Local Health District. In 2022/23 approximately $14.9 million will be distributed to NGOs with the aim of improving the health and well being of people in the community. These funded NGOs are incorporated community based not for profit organisations.
Currently, health-funded NGO projects are aligned with NSW Health/Local Health District strategic directions and spread across a range of health program areas including:
- Aged and Disability Services
- AIDS Prevention
- Community Services Program
- Drug and Alcohol
- Health Promotion
- Mental Health
- Women's Health
The NSW Health NGO Grant Program is being transitioned to the NSW Health Partnerships for Health funding program, where the procurement of any future NGO services will be subject to standard procurement considerations and may not be awarded through a grant.
