SESLHD shines in the Australia Day Honours
Our people have once again been recognised this Australia Day for their outstanding contributions to the health of our community and their chosen field.
Congratulations to the following staff who have been appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia (AM):
- Jennifer Holmes (pictured left), Clinical Informatics Specialist, Drug and Alcohol Services: For significant service to community health through alcohol and drug use prevention and treatment initiatives.
- Conjoint Professor Nicholas Lintzeris (pictured centre), Senior Staff Specialist in Addiction Medicine for Drug and Alcohol Services: For significant service as a clinical researcher in addiction medicine.
We are also delighted to share that Professor Henry Brodaty AO (pictured right), Honorary Medical Officer at Prince of Wales Hospital, was named Senior Australian of the Year at the Australian of the Year Awards. Professor Brodaty, who marked an incredible 50 years of service to NSW Health last year, was recognised for advancing dementia treatment and care in Australia and around the world.
“I want to extend my warmest congratulations to Jennifer, Nicholas and Henry for this worthy recognition on the national stage,” said Chief Executive Leisa Rathborne.
“These accolades reflect the profound difference you make every day: both here in our Local Health District and in your chosen profession.”
