Welcoming Leisa Rathborne as Chief Executive

This week we welcome Leisa Rathborne as our new Chief Executive for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District. 

Known for her collaborative, outcomes-focused leadership and commitment to staff wellbeing, Leisa continues to strengthen the District’s reputation for world-class care, research and community engagement.

Leisa is a highly regarded health leader with more than 30 years’ experience across clinical, operational and infrastructure leadership roles in NSW Health. She brings a deep understanding of health service delivery, organisational culture and system-wide reform.

Leisa was formerly the Executive Director, Northern Region for Health Infrastructure and has recently served as Acting Deputy Secretary, Infrastructure and Asset Management, and Chief Executive, Health Infrastructure, leading the delivery of an $18 billion capital program across the State.

She also has a strong history with the District, having held the positions of General Manager of St George Hospital and Director of Operations at the Royal Hospital for Women, and prior to that over worked for over 21 years in Local Health District leadership roles.

She is widely recognised for her collaborative and outcomes-focused leadership style, her commitment to staff wellbeing and accountability, and her ability to build strong partnerships across government, clinicians, and communities. Leisa’s experience, energy and commitment to exceptional care will continue to strengthen the District’s reputation for world-class healthcare, research and community engagement.
