Short Street Centre

Because of COVID19 (coronavirus), Short Street Centre is now an APPOINTMENT ONLY service (no walk ins). 

We will operate as usual, though you will need to book an appointment over the phone to see us from Monday the 23rd of March.

You can call on (02) 9113 2742 to make an appointment during our usual hours of operation.

If you have a cough or fever, or have been overseas in the last 14 days, please discuss your options when you call.

Specialised Sexual Health Services at St George and Sutherland Hospital

The Short Street Centre and SouthZone are part of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District and offer specialist STI/HIV testing and management services.

The Short Street Centre is based on the St George Hospital campus while Southzone is a part time outreach clinic based in the Community Health Centre at Sutherland Hospital.  Both are affiliated with the University of NSW Faculty of Medicine and St George Clinical School.


These publicly funded>clinics offer free, expert and confidential services from a multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses and counsellors.

When visiting either centre

  • Medicare cards are not essential
  • no referral is required.
