Basic Physician Training – East Coast Medical Network

The East Coast Medical Network (ECMN) Basic Physician Training Network is dedicated to the training of balanced, well-rounded and competent physicians. Vocationally based training is delivered across 6 locations: Prince of Wales, Sydney Hospital, The Royal Hospital for Women, Port Macquarie Base Hospital, Shellharbour Hospital.

The ECMN has an impressive track record with one of the highest pass rates in the state in the RACP written and clinical examinations, with pass rates averaging 86% and 92% respectively over the last 6 years.

The ECMN provides a wide range of sub-specialty medical terms in both urban and regional locations and offers the following:

  • Weekly written education program augmented by the RACP run Physician Education Program lecture series
  • Video conferenced tutorials
  • Protected teaching
  • Opportunity to attend 2 weeks revision course
  • Comprehensive clinical preparation program including practice short and long cases
  • Dedicated Neurology teaching, clinical investigation workshops and structured communication tutorials
  • Professional development program including tutorials in leadership skills, managing JMO’s, communication skills, CV and job interview skills
