Protecting your loved ones against influenza

Have you and your family received the flu shot this winter?

Flu vaccination rates among at-risk populations in South Eastern Sydney are low. In fact, only half of people aged 65 and over have received their free flu vaccine this year.

Influenza is a serious illness and can be fatal. The influenza vaccine is FREE to people most at-risk of severe illness including:

  • Children 6 months to under 5 years (including Aboriginal and CALD communities)
  • Pregnant women
  • All Aboriginal people from 6 months
  • Seniors aged 65 and over
  • All patients from 6 months of age with chronic liver, renal, cardiac, respiratory, metabolic, neurologic or immune diseases or malignancy are also eligible for free influenza vaccine regardless of age.
