Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital ophthalmologist wins Premier's Award

Professor Stephanie Watson, a Corneal Ophthalmologist at Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital, has been honoured for outstanding clinical leadership, winning the NSW Premier’s Award for Leadership in Innovation.

Dr Pauline Rumma, Director of Clinical Services, Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital said: “We are very proud of Stephanie achieving the NSW Premier’s Prize for Leadership in Innovation in NSW, which reflects the innovative work she performs in her field.”

Professor Watson said she was both honoured and inspired by receiving the award.

“I’m honoured as the award recognises the novel ways that I have sought to improve patient outcomes – and I’m inspired as there is more work to do as many remain untreated from corneal blindness and NSW is the place to find the solutions,” Professor Watson said.
