Healthy Food & Drink Framework
The NSW Ministry of Health’s Healthy Food and Drink in NSW Health Facilities for Staff and Visitors Framework (the Framework) aims to increase the availability of healthy food and drink options at our facilities and is one of many actions contributing to the health and wellbeing of our staff and visitors.
Implementation of the Framework is being driven at the local level, addressing four focus areas:
- product availability
- quality
- size
- marketing
Food and drink from outlets such as cafes, kiosks, convenience stores, newsagents, vending machines and catering provided at functions, meetings and special events will shift towards being predominately healthier, everyday options. Staff and visitors are encouraged to make water their drink of choice and enjoy a range of healthy food options.
By increasing the availability of healthier food and drink, NSW Health and SESLHD are leading the way by making the healthy choice an easier choice.
