As an Occupational Therapist, I work with patients to make them as independent as possible, whether it's through new strategies of how to do things, prescribing equipment, or helping family members care for them at home. At the moment I'm working on the neurology ward, so I work with mostly patients who've had a stroke.

Every nine months we rotate to a new area. It's good to have variety and try somewhere different. Every new area brings different experiences and different challenges.

I always knew from a young age that I wanted to work in health. Both my parents work in health, so I was looking at all the different careers that health had to offer, and I did a day work experience here when I was in high school. I was really drawn to occupational therapy. When I saw what an occupational therapist did in a hospital, it really inspired me.

I love baking, so I always bring in baked treats for all my colleagues. A little sweet treat makes the day a bit better. I also really love to crochet. Just like my baking, I love making things that make people happy.  I volunteer for St John Ambulance some weekends helping out the community in a different way. It's providing first aid at local community events, such as fun runs, school fetes and sometimes sporting events. I really enjoy that as well.
