Celebrating a strong year
Our Annual Public Meeting, held recently in the Claffy Lecture Theatre at Sydney Hospital, was a great success.
SESLHD Board Chair, Dr Debra Graves gave a thoughtful reflection on the great work we have achieved as a District over the past year.
Guests attended online and in person to listen to Antonia Ottavio, Service Director, Eastern Suburbs Mental Health Service, who spoke about how headspace provided mental health support following the incident at Bondi Junction earlier this year.
A former SESLHD patient and nurse unit manager also shared a very personal account about end-of-life care at St George Hospital. These speakers shone a light on the wide-ranging person-centred care that our District provides.
The winner of the SESLHD Board Members’ Choice Award was the Digital Health team for their Biomedical Device Integration Project, which enhances patient care and streamlines clinical workflows.
The winner of the Consumer's Choice for Person-Centre Care Award was the Uterus Transplantation Research Study Program at the Royal Hospital for Women.
We also celebrated SESLHD Service Recognition Awards marking 50, 55, and in the case of nuclear medicine technologist Julie Vine, an extraordinary 65 years of service. We thank our wonderful staff for their continued commitment to the District and our communities.
