GOLD! GOLD! GOLD!

Olympic fever has been gripping the District, with staff inventing new sports and keeping tabs on upcoming Olympians.

The residents of Garrawarra Centre participated in their very own mini Olympics. The Garrawarra Centre Olympic torch was proudly made by the residents of Waratah Cottage, taking inspiration from a variety of Olympic torch designs over the years.

Each cottage has been holding a variety of Olympic events which have tested athletic skills, coordination, endurance and maintained previous sporting interests. Events have included shot put, basketball hoops, cycling, balloon tennis, shuffleboard and walking races. Congratulations to all the medal winners, competitors and cheer squads for joining in the festivities.

The team at the Kirketon Road Centre may not be in Tokyo, but they’re sporting legends. No hurdle is too high for them to bound over when testing and vaccinating vulnerable communities in inner-city Sydney.

Sutherland Hospital staff may have uncovered a gold medalist of the future, based on how happy newborn baby Oakley was during her first bath. Oakley showed good form in the water and her strong kicks have the staff thinking she may go down the same path as Cate Campbell and be a freestyle champion!

The Sydney Sexual Health Centre Olympic event is ’Speed testing’, promoting rapid sexual health tests for people without symptoms. It’s as easy as booking into their Xpress clinic for a 15-minute testing appointment.

Our dental health team would take top spot on an Olympic podium for all the smiles they create on a daily basis. They were keen to promote you don't have to be an Olympic athlete to keep your teeth in tip top shape during Dental Health Week.

And we caught new dad, Daniel, at the Royal Hospital for Women bonding with his brand new little mate and watching the Olympics while Mum, Leora, caught up on some much-needed sleep.
