Little hearts for big loves

What better day to join St George Hospital’s newly formed ‘Little Hearts Club’ than Valentine’s Day?

Baby Emmelia Smaraydi Tsakalakis, born on Sunday 13 February sparked a new, powerful love for proud parents Angela and Dimitris just in time for Valentine’s Day and the launch of the Little Hearts Club.

A silver heart engraved with Emmelia’s name has been placed on the hospital’s new baby wall to commemorate her birth and officially launch the new fundraiser at St George Hospital.

“The birth of a baby is such a special and precious moment in time for families and The Little Hearts Club is an opportunity for parents to treasure this memory by including their baby’s commemorative heart on our wall,” said Lorena Matthews, Divisional Director of Women’s and Children’s Health, St George Hospital, who has been planning the Little Hearts Club for many years.

“By celebrating in this way, families will be helping to raise funds for the Women’s and Children’s Health Service at the hospital so that we can continue to build on the wonderful care provided to our mothers and their babies.”

The baby wall will soon be filled with silver hearts, which are also available for babies born at St George Hospital from years past. For more information, contact SESLHD-StGeorge-CommunityRelations@health.nsw.gov.au or phone (02) 9113 2901.
