SESLHD celebrates NAIDOC Week 2019

NAIDOC Week 2019 was celebrated at a host of events throughout SESLHD from 7 to 14 July with this year’s theme in mind: “Voice, Treaty, Truth. Let’s work together for a shared future.”

Aunty Linda Boney, Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Officer, Prince of Wales Hospital, said this years theme, “Voice, Treaty, Truth", calls for Aboriginal voices in decision making, and understanding the truth about our history so that we can all move forward together.

“This is such an important week for not only Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, but for everyone, for every Australian. Having the support of so many staff, health facilities, foundations and redevelopment partners is inspiring,” Ms Boney said.

Currently, SESLHD has 141 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees, in both clinical and non-clinical roles.
