SESLHD shines in the 47th Mardi Gras parade

Sydney’s world-famous Mardi Gras culminated in the always fabulous Mardi Gras parade on Saturday night and SESLHD was thrilled to be a part of the action, which marks over 30 years of participation in the parade.

Our District is home to a large and vibrant LGBTIQ+ community that our people and services have proudly walked alongside for decades.

Front and centre, following the Kirketon Road Centre entry in the parade, were the Albion Centre, part of the District’s Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Services. Dr Phillip Read, Director of Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Services, was proud to walk alongside his colleagues on Saturday night.

“As the Albion Centre celebrate their ‘Fierce and Fabulous’ Ruby Anniversary, the District is proud to share this milestone with the community and our equally fabulous sexual health colleagues, as we came together and marched down Oxford Street. They all truly embody the spirit of this year’s Mardi Gras theme, Free to Be.”
