SESLHD staff keep spirits high on the frontline

With hundreds of cars turning up to the Sutherland drive-through COVID-19 testing clinic daily, our staff have been busy and it has not gone unnoticed. Thank you flowers, coffees and hot chips have been sent to the staff to brighten and warm up their days as they battle the winter chill working outdoors.

Registered nurse Di Sotheran, who came out of retirement to assist with COVID-19 testing, has also helped keep spirits high by sharing her parody song lyrics with the team. Ms Sotheran has shown her creativity and great sense of humour through her COVID-inspired lyrics to the tune of I’ve Been Everywhere and I Still Call Australia Home.

Over at the St George Hospital Vaccination Hub, staff are administering hundreds of vaccines daily to help protect our community from COVID-19. It has become widely popular for people to snap a selfie once they have received their vaccine, so the Hub staff created a fun photo-frame to capture these moments – with famous faces joining in the fun, including Socceroo Chris Ikonomidis and NSW Opposition Leader Chris Minns.

While you may not be given a lollipop with your vaccination, there are currently plenty of Lindt chocolates floating around the Vaccination Hub thanks to a very generous donation from Lindt. These sweet treats have definitely helped keep spirits high.
