St George's Day

We would like to welcome everyone to the St George Hospital Open Day on Wednesday 30 April 2025.

This Open Day forms part of our 130th year celebration and St George’s Day.

We are excited to showcase our dedication to world-class healthcare, innovation, and a culture of care that empowers our patients, staff, and community.

The Open Day is from 10am to 2pm, across two campus venues - Atrium, Acute Services Building (Map - No. 25) and George’s Garden (Map - Lawn area) in front of James Laws House (Map - No. 16).

The event will include:

Our ISS Facility Team dressed as your favourite super heroes, located on the outside of the building at the Gray Street entrance (Map - No. 1)
St George & Illawarra Dragons, where players will be available for photos and a little competition of tossing a ball
Sylvania BMW team onsite selling raffle tickets to win a new BMW (drawn 11 October 2025). The BMW is located opposite the Emergency Department, Gray Street carpark
St George Bank - Happy Dragon and staff will interact with staff/community, providing face painting and giveaways
Together with local artists Jason and Trevor from Dalmarri, staff and our community will be invited to create a beautiful Aboriginal Artwork that will be later framed and displayed on our campus
Dance performances by our diverse community
Staff members from the St George Leagues Club will volunteer their time on the day
Staff walking around in historical uniforms
PowerPoint presentation of the hospital’s history
Music, including a guitarist, violinist and the Kogarah Concert Big Band
BBQ held by our Nursing & Midwifery team
Cake stall by our Lamrock Committee

You are also be encouraged to visit the St George Hospital Museum, located in the library, Research & Education Building where you can view historical medical equipment and memorabilia (Map - No. 27).
