NAIDOC Week

This year's NAIDOC theme is "Heal Country". It invites all Australian's to increase their understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, and embrace it as part of our country's unique and shared history.

Margaret Broadbent, Deputy Manager, Aboriginal Health Unit, said: "For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, when we talk about country, we speak of a connectedness, a sense of belonging that is inherently unique and a crucial part of our identity as individuals and our community".

"Healing our country is a part of healing ourselves and something we can all be a part of. Let's make this NAIDOC Week the beginning of our journey to heal our country  and community, together", Margaret said.
