Sutherland Hospital is fortunate to have many volunteers working for the organisation. They contribute significantly by assisting in ward areas, running an information booth, providing a mobile library service, providing cosmetic care for patients, participating in the falls prevention program as patient observers/companions and assisting with fundraising activities.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer please contact the Volunteer Manager on telephone (02) 9540 7251.

A non-sectarian quiet room is situated in the hospital grounds. Staff, patients and visitors are welcome to utilise this room for religious observances and meditation.

Members of the clergy from all denominations in the Sutherland Shire visit the hospital regularly. The patient care team offers spiritual comfort to all patients and in doing so, has an important role in the healing process. If you wish to be visited by a member of the Chaplaincy team please speak to the Nurse-in-Charge of your ward.
