True Colours: Specialist Trans and Gender Diverse Health Service

True Colours is a Specialist Trans and Gender Diverse Health Service providing holistic and multidisciplinary gender affirming care to young people, aged 16 to 24 years of age, living in the Sydney Metropolitan Area. The service provides access to medical, nursing, mental health and allied health specialists, offering medical review, specialist nursing care, psychological assessment and diagnosis, and social work consultation. The service will also provide access to gender affirming medical treatment (e.g. hormone treatment) when clinically appropriate and in line with an individual's goals.

True Colours provides specialist trans and gender diverse healthcare only and connects with existing support services to ensure wrap around, holistic care for young people and their families and carers.  The service supports a young person and their goals, including if their goals change along the way.

Yes, True Colours does have a waitlist. The True Colours team proactively manages and reviews the service to minimise waiting times as much as possible. We know that delay of care is frustrating, however the team will provide the most up to date estimation of wait times for the service.

Our multidisciplinary team provides supportive gender affirming care through assessment, care planning, access and referral. Each patient’s care plan is developed to be clinically appropriate and in line with an individual's goals.

An intake appointment will be your first appointment at the service where you will meet with one of the True Colours team members. It is an opportunity to talk about your experience and goals and to learn more about True Colours. Care planning may involve meeting with many of the True Colours clinicians, so expect a stepped process.

Our team includes;

  • Medical: Endocrinologist, Psychiatrist and Registrar
  • Nursing: Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) and Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Allied Heath: Social Worker, Psychologist and Speech Pathologist
  • Peer Worker
  • Support: Administrator and Clinic Operations Manager.
