Audit tools for the NSW AoD Clinical Care Standards

Return to COQI homepage

The COQI program has been funded by the Center for Alcohol and other Drugs (CAoD, NSW MoH) to develop electronic and manual audit tools to assist services in monitoring their Clinical Care Standard achievement.  The electronic audits are for services using Cerner eMR and the manual audit tools will be compatible with Quality Audit Reporting System [QARS]. The audits will be developed with input from government and non-government treatment providers.

NSW Cerner eMR sites have access to a range of reports that can support services in delivering treatment consistent with the Clinical Care Standards.

The COQI team has developed some QRGs to assist services in running and interpreting these resources.  Currently there are QRGs for:

  • Follow up ATOP completion rates
  • Initial Global Care completion rates
  • Repeat Global Care Plan completion rates
  • Overdue Care Plan Reviews patient list

Staff from NSW LHD treatment services who would like a copy of the QRGs or support with running and interpreting the reports, please contact us at seslhd-coqi@health.nsw.gov.au

The project team are currently reviewing existing clinical audits in NSW treatment services to inform the development of a CCS audit.  If you work at a NSW Treatment Service and you would like to share your service's audits or be involved in the development process, please get in contact with the project team at seslhd-coqi@health.nsw.gov.au.
