Feeding

Whether you are breastfeeding or bottle feeding, introducing solids for the first time, weaning, or planning for when you go back to work, you may find you need some extra guidance and support on feeding and nutrition for your child.

You can access local services in a number of ways through the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District Child and Family Health service.

Family Care Centre

Our Family Care Centre in Caringbah, situated on the grounds of Sutherland Hospital provides additional support for families with children from birth to 12 months of age residing in the St George and Sutherland areas. Services include assistance with infant nutrition, including breastfeeding, bottle feeding and solids, as well as issues such as sleeping and settling. Family Care Centre services are free, but a referral is required. Find out more about our Family Care Cottages.

Difficulty with Feeding, Chewing, Sucking or Swallowing

If your child has trouble feeding, chewing, sucking or swallowing, you can access specialist services. For more information see Children's Speech Pathology.
