Child, Youth and Family

AHU Artwork element 5South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) has a wide range of services to support you and your family during early childhood and into adolescence. There are two Aboriginal Child and Family Health Services and a number of mainstream services available for you to access. Please note that some services are only accessible to residents of specific locations. See the links below for more details.

 

Aboriginal Services

Aboriginal Child and Family health Service - Randwick and La Perouse

Our Aboriginal Child and Family health Service in the Randwick and La Perouse areas provides cultural support and care coordination to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families by working in partnership with the Child and Family Health Nurses and other clinicians.

Our Aboriginal Health Worker implements a range of health promotion activities to support the growth and development of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and the health and wellbeing of families.

Narrangy-Booris Aboriginal Child and Family Health Nursing Service

Narrangy-Booris is a free Aboriginal CHild and Family Health Service based at Menai for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children under five years, and their families, who live in the Sutherland Shire and St George area.

The Narrangy-Booris team includes Aboriginal Health Workers, Child and Family Health Nurses, a Speech Pathologist, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist and Paediatrician.

Other Services to support families

Child and Family Health (C&FH)

Nursing

Having a new baby in a family can be a wonderful experience but adjusting to parenthood brings many challenges and responsibilities.

The C&FH Service is a valuable resource for parents and carers and work in partnership with families to rovide support, information and health advice.

Additional Supports

At times, parents and carers need support with feeding or settling babies to sleep, and babies and young children may need additional support with growth and development. SESLHD C&FH service has a range of supports available to help guide you through your baby's early years of life.
