St George Hospital is accessible by car, train, bus, cycling and taxi.

Public Transport

The nearest train station is Kogarah Station, located on Railway Parade Kogarah.  This is approximately 500m walk from the hospital.

Parking

Parking is available in surrounding streets and paid parking stations are located on Gray Street, Belgrave Street or Kensington Street.

There are two levels of basement parking in the Kensington Street Building for patients, carers and visitors. To make patient drop-off and pick-up easier, the first 15 minutes of parking is free. Eligible concession holders can also validate their parking tickets at reception. Standard parking conditions apply.

Concessional Parking

Reduced parking fees are available to eligible patients and carers where fees apply.

Accessible Parking

There are a number of accessible parking spaces for people with a disability located in both the Gray Street and Belgrave Street carparks.

  • Gray Street carpark - 11 spaces
  • Belgrave Street carpark - 6 spaces
  • Kensington Street carpark - 6 spaces on B1

 

Main Hospital Entry Points

Upon arrival there are three main entry points to access St George Hospital:

  1. Gray Street is the main entry point for the hospital
  2. Belgrave Street entry
  3. Kensington Street entry 

 

Redevelopment: Important Campus Access Information 

Kensington Street Building 

While the forecourt is under construction, there is currently NO Ground Floor entry or exit from the Kensington Street Building directly.

To exit the building, visitors must use the lifts or stairs to Level 1, where signed exits provide access to the hospital campus or Kensington Street. 

Inpatient Wards Operating Hours

  • Weekdays: 8.00 am – 8.00 pm
  • Weekends: 10.00 am – 8.00 pm

Outpatient Clinics Operating Hours

  • Weekdays: 8:00am - 4.30pm 
  • Weekends: Closed, except Day & Medical Infusion Centre - Saturday 8:00am - 4.30pm

 

Prichard Wing Refurbishment

The Prichard Wing is currently undergoing refurbishment and will not be accessible until December 2026.

The only clinic remaining in the Prichard Wing is Endocrinology. To access this clinic, patients and carers should enter via James Laws House (the older style building attached to the Prichard Wing and located behind the Garden area), take the lift to Level 3, and follow the directional signage along the corridor.

Please note that toilet facilities have changed during the refurbishment period. Staff will be available to assist with directions. Accessible bathrooms are located on the Ground Floor of the main hospital building.

All other outpatient services previously located in the Prichard Wing have relocated to the following locations:

  • Short Street Sexual Health – 9 Chapel Street (formerly Kogarah Eye Clinic)
  • Women's, Genetics and Paediatrics – 3 West, Tower Ward Building
  • PaCH Paediatric Clinics – Level 1, Burt Nielsen Wing (formerly Gastroenterology Clinic)

Main Hospital Reception 

Main Reception and Patient Enquiries is located as you enter from the Gray Street main entry. The reception hours are 8.00am to 8.00pm weekdays and 10.00am to 8.00pm weekends.
