About Us

Based in Sydney's eastern suburbs within the Randwick Hospitals Campus, the Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Services is a major metropolitan teaching hospital and tertiary referral centre, providing excellent healthcare to the local south eastern Sydney community and specialist health and medical services to NSW.

With approximately 450 inpatient beds and almost 3000 staff, more than 60,000 patients are admitted to the Prince of Wales Hospital, and more than 58,000 patients are treated in the hospital’s Emergency Department each year.

The Prince of Wales Hospital’s Community Health Services outpatients and rural outreach services also provide more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year.

The hospital is affiliated with various universities and premier medical teaching facilities in Australia; which enables our staff to provide excellence in healthcare in conjunction with our commitment to quality clinical teaching and leading medical research.
