Country Patients
Sydney and Sydney Eye Hospital aims to provide you and your loved ones with a guide to some of the questions you may have about your care and visit.
A hospital visit can be a worrying time, even more so when you are far away from your family and friends. We hope this information helps to make you feel more comfortable about your stay.
If you have any questions about the hospital or your illness, please ask one of our staff, they will be happy to help you.
Accomodation and Transport
The social work staff can assist you with travel arrangements and a list of accommodation near to the hospital.
The Isolated Patients Travel and Accommodation Scheme (IPTAAS)
The scheme is available to help patients with accomodation and transport costs if:
- for patients who live 100km or more (one way)
- the patient needs specialist treatment
- the treatment is not available in their local area
