Professor Michael Friedlander is conjoint Professor of Medicine at The University of New South Wales . He has appointments at The Royal Hospital for Women , the Prince of Wales Hospital and The Prince of Wales Private Hospital Major Clinical Interests include Gynaecological Cancers, Breast Cancer, Soft Tissue Sarcomas and Germ Cell Tumours. He has been very active at both a National and International level in the field of Gynaecological Oncology. He was President of the International Society of Gynaecological Oncology (IGCS) from 2004-2006. He is a senior editor of the International Journal of Gynaecological Oncology. He was the founding Chairman of the ANZ Gynaecology Oncology Group (ANZGOG) and has held this position from 2000-2008 and remains on the ANZGOG executive and is currently the Research Director of ANZGOG.He is the Principle Investigator for ANZGOG in the US GOG as well as an ANZGOG representative to the Gynaecological Cancer Inter-Group (GCIG). In addition, he has a long standing commitment over the last 30 years and particular expertise in the management of women with breast cancer .He is a member of the ANZBCTG and has been involved in many clinical trials as well as led research projects on the management of the late effects of treatment and survivorship issues. Michael Friedlander was instrumental in establishing and setting up the first hereditary cancer clinic in Australia in 1993.He has maintained a strong research interest in hereditary breast and ovarian cancer and has been very involved in clinical trials with PARP inhibitors in patients with BRCA mutations. He has held numerous grants and has a very active research program and collaborates with investigators in Australia and Internationally. He has published approximately 250 papers including many book chapters and invited reviews. He has received a number of awards including the Medical Oncology Group of Australia Cancer Achievement Award in 2007 recognising his contribution to Cancer Control and Research in Australia as well as an Order of Australia (AM) in 2011 for service to Medicine in the field of Oncology .He was included in the 2012 inaugural data base of Best Doctors in Australia and New Zealand

Dr Lee is a clinical investigator with subspecialty expertise in gynaecological cancers and soft tissue sarcoma. She is currently a medical oncologist at the Royal Prince Alfred-Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and Prince of Wales-Royal Hospital for Women; Research Fellow at the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre, University of Sydney; and Conjoint Senior Lecturer at the University of New South Wales. Dr Lee completed a dual research fellowship at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (Melbourne, Australia; 2015-2016) and at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre (Toronto, Canada; 2016-2018) in Gynaecology and Drug Development. Dr Lee’s research focus is to improve patient care in gynaecological cancers and soft tissue sarcoma, through advancing and translating knowledge in cancer genetics, drug development and supportive care. She completed a Master of Philosophy with first class honours (University of Melbourne) investigating ways to improve ovarian cancer care along the disease trajectory. Her research accomplishments included receipt of the GCIG Scholar Award (2019), CAHON Young Investigator Award (2018), Tannock Fellowship Award (2017) and Conquer Cancer Foundation of ASCO Merit Award (2016). Dr Lee is highly active in clinical trials and has been involved in the conduct of >50 Phase I-III investigator-initiated and collaborative trials. Dr Lee’s research leadership includes being appointed member of Research Advisory Committee and Ovarian Tumour Type Working Group for ANZGOG (Australia New Zealand Gynaecological Oncology Group), Scientific Advisory Committee for ANZSA (Australia New Zealand Sarcoma Association), the Chair of Rare Tumour Reference Group of National GyneOncology Registry and member of the Gynaecological Cancer and Sarcoma Reference Committee for EviQ Cancer Treatment Online.

Dr King Man Wan is a Specialist Gynaecological Oncologist who manages gynaecological cancers, pre-invasive disease and complex benign gynaecological conditions including endometriosis and complex ovarian masses. He has trained extensively in open and laparoscopic surgery and has also completed a Da Vinci robotics fellowship in gynaecological oncology.

Dr Wan grew up in Sydney and graduated medical school with honours at Monash University. He returned to NSW for internship and residency in the Central Coast. He then entered Obstetrics and Gynaecology training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where he found his passion in caring for women living with cancer. He subsequently undertook additional training in Gynaecological Oncology at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse before commencing 3 years of formal subspecialty training to receive his certification of gynaecological oncology (CGO). During his subspecialty training, he worked across Australia at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse (NSW), Royal Adelaide Hospital (SA) and King Edward Memorial Hospital (WA).

Dr Wan also holds a Master of Public Health and is a conjoint lecturer at UNSW. He teaches a masters course in women’s cancer and is heavily involved in the teaching of gynaecological oncology fellows, obstetrics and gynaecology trainees and medical students.
