Children and Young People

We deliver a range of programs and initiatives for children and young people, from 0 to 24 years, to improve their health and wellbeing. We aim to prevent or reduce the impact of chronic disease and improve health service access, particularly for those most in need across SESLHD.

We do this by:

  • Partnering with early childhood education services and schools to create supportive environments that help children live healthy and active lives now and into the future.

  • Working in partnership with consumers, health providers and community organisations to deliver health promotion and prevention initiatives for children and young people.

  • Building the capacity of our health services to deliver-youth friendly healthcare.

  • Working with consumers to ensure that young people’s voices are heard in our health system.

  • Providing support for healthy policy development, training and resources for educators, teachers and families.
