The HARP Unit has recruited young people to deliver the Play Safe Summer peer education program in the Randwick, Bayside and City of Sydney Council areas. Young people are recruited and trained to deliver sexual health, harm reduction and viral hepatitis information to other young people in the community. In addition to peer education this group provides a youth advisory function to health services within the health district.

The Play Safe Summer peer education component is also run in partnership with Project Youth in the St George and Sutherland area.

The HARP Unit and Unleashed Grad Trips, Australia’s largest overseas schoolies operator, collaborate to deliver a comprehensive Play Safe sexual health campaign for school leavers travelling from the local area and NSW to Fiji.  The campaign includes training for staff to promote the Play Safe website and to have conversations around safe sex, condom use and testing; a social media campaign and the distribution of Play Safe safe sex packs to young people on grad trip.
