Shellharbour Hospital offers the benefits of a rural placement, serving a population of 50,000 with the advantage of city life only minutes away. The Shellharbour Hospital is located 24km (15 mins) south of Wollongong in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven Local Health District.

Shellharbour Hospital has 75 beds (60 medical) and a 5 bed High Dependency Unit with emergency services, elective surgical services, general medical, antenatal and primary family health care, satellite renal dialysis and adolescent and adult mental health services on site. The hospital and consultants maintain close links with Wollongong hospital, the referral centre for higher-level care, and is located within close reach of a regional shopping centre, beautiful beaches, the South Coast of NSW, and the picturesque Southern Highlands.
