Governance
Research Governance ensures that research meets the standards of quality, safety, privacy, risk management, financial management and ethical acceptability. It provides a framework for health districts, facilities, managers and researchers to share accountability for research conduct.
To obtain authorisation, researchers need to submit a Site Specific Assessment (SSA) via REGIS.
IMPORTANT: It is essential to refer to the PRE-SUBMISSION GUIDE available. BEFORE submitting an email query or application to the Research Office.
ALL governance applications MUST include the Research Governance Submission Checklist for Researchers.
Please note:
- You must have ethics approval before you apply for governance approval.
- You are not able to commence your study without both ethics and governance approval.
- If you require a Clinical trial research agreement for your study – please refer to the presubmission guide page 26.
Ensure that your agreement has been signed by both the sponsor and the principal investigator along and all queries resolved BEFORE submitting the agreement and SSA into the REGIS platform
