Chaplaincy - Spiritual and Pastoral Care
How we can help you
Being in hospital can be difficult, lonely, or even frightening. Chaplains can visit you to offer emotional and spiritual support. We are trained in pastoral care. This means we know how to listen and provide comfort and empathy when you are in crisis or stress. You do not need to follow a particular religion or faith. Our service is for all patients, families/friends and staff.
We offer these services to all patients, their families/friends and to staff:
- Visits to the bedside
- Simple, confidential, non-judgmental listening
- Assistance to explore the meaning in what you are experiencing
- Help to ensure your voice is heard
- Meditation
- Help to celebrate a milestone
We can also provide special spiritual or religious support for those who have one of the following faith traditions:
- Anglican
- Buddhist
- Catholic
- Greek Orthodox
- Hindu
- Islam
- Jewish
- Presbyterian
- Uniting
- *Other
* We can also help find someone to support your faith tradition if it is not included above.
Our chaplaincy service is available for pastoral care during the day and after hours for emergencies only.
