Haematology (blood cancers) Clinical Trials Unit
How we can help you
We run clinical trial and clinical research projects on prevention and treatment of blood cancers. Research on other types of cancer is undertaken by our Oncology Clinical Trials Unit.
We are located in the Nelune Comprehensive Cancer Centre within the Bright Alliance Building (Building 3 on our campus map)
We are on the corner of High Street and Avoca Street in Randwick. The main public entrance is on Avoca Street. You may also enter the Cancer Centre from level 2 of the High St entrance to Prince of Wales Hospital.
For a current list of available clinical trials either download the ClinTrial Refer app or follow the link to the website
We can quickly process a patient referral, simply send a referral letter to Karen McCardie firstname.lastname@example.org or ring 9382 5191 to speak directly to the Nurse Unit Manager Haematology Clinical Trials.
Please attach any relevant documents including, patient history or test results. All new potential trial patients will need to bring the following to their initial clinic visit:
- Copy of histopathology or cytology confirming diagnosis
- List of previous cancer related treatments including dates
- Medical Imaging – such as CT scans, MRI, PET scans, Bone scans
- List of current medication
On receipt of the referral, our referral management team will ensure that the appropriate specialist is notified, and the patient information is triaged, and the patient contacted to arrange a suitable appointment.
